DriversPING G440 K DriverSpecs and who it suits
Updated: Sep 12, 2026Contains affiliate links
The draw-biased model in PING's G440 series. Of the five models compared here, it's the only one whose price, lofts, head volume and adjustment range could all be confirmed on the official site — reassuring if you like to choose by the numbers. At ¥118,800 it's ¥11,000 more than the MAX / SFT / LST in the same series (¥107,800 each). It suits golfers who struggle with misses to the right and have a reason to pay that difference.

3 key points about this model
Point 1: Loft adjusts ±1° / ±1.5°, and lie can be set to standard or flat
Loft adjusts ±1° and ±1.5°, and lie can be set to standard or flat. Being able to go flat when the draw bias feels too strong is, in my view, an important safety valve on a draw-biased club.
Point 2: Besides the stock Japan-only ALTA J CB BLUE shaft, you can choose TOUR 2.0 and more
Besides the stock Japan-only ALTA J CB BLUE shaft, you can also choose TOUR 2.0 or SPEEDER NX GREY.
Point 3: There's a spin-off model, the G440 K HL
There's a G440 K HL variant. Head volume 460cc, total weight about 301g.

Pros / Cons
Pros
- Price, loft, head volume, shaft and adjustment range were all confirmed on the official site (the only one of the five models this time).
- Adjustable loft ±1° / ±1.5° and standard or flat lie.
- Comes standard with the Japan-only ALTA J CB BLUE shaft, tailored for the Japanese market
Cons
- ¥118,800. That's ¥11,000 more than the G440 MAX / SFT / LST (¥107,800 each).
- It's built to help square the face, so it doesn't suit players who want to hit a fade on purpose.
- Total weight about 301g. It's not a lightweight model, so hit one first to make sure you can swing it freely
What this rating is based on
This rating is based on the maker's official specs (loft, head volume, adjustability) and actual selling prices on Rakuten Ichiba and the official store.

Who it doesn't suit
Golfers who like to shape the ball on purpose. The draw bias can make a fade harder to hit.
Check before you buy
The standard shaft's weight. Too light and the draw bias gets stronger.
If a test shot or two feels long, that may just be the good end of your normal spread. Hit 10 balls with the same club and your distances will vary by 20 yards or more. So hit 10 and look at both the average and the spread.
FAQ (drivers)
When is the cheapest time to buy a 2026 model?
New clubs are priciest right after launch and drop around the time the next model is announced. On the used market, last year's model starts to drop right after the new one is announced.
Is the latest model worth it if my head speed is slow?
Ball-speed-focused models are said to help most for golfers without fast head speed. Still, hitting 10 balls to check is the surest way.
Is last year's model worth buying?
If the performance gap is small enough to get lost in your spread, it's a sensible choice. Putting the savings toward practice does more for your score.
