I average a score of 72 and play 150 rounds a year. I compared these seriously.
The FOURTEEN NEW TB-7 FORGED comes out Nov 13, 2026. A 5-iron set (#6–P) is ¥165,000 and a single iron is ¥33,000.
The 7-iron is 30°. It is the first TB iron in S15C steel, and its shape is based on the RM-B muscle back.
The Gear Nerd's Pick
If you pick soft forged irons for feel, this is the iron I'd look at first right now. As the number says, S15C carries about 0.15% carbon. That's less than the S20C (about 0.20%) used before, so the steel itself is softer. FOURTEEN put it into a compact head based on the RM-B muscle back and added mass around the edges to raise MOI. Loft and length match the TB-5 exactly, so you can mix the two in one set. It adds softness without taking away forgiveness. That's why it's my pick.

Bottom line
If you're unsure, try a single 7-iron in your hands before you decide. A single iron is ¥33,000, the same as one club from the 5-iron set.
You can check your 7-iron distance and gapping with our loft checker. I'll add a follow-up after release.
When does the NEW TB-7 FORGED come out, and what does it cost?
It comes out on Nov 13, 2026. Pre-orders are already open, and orders ship from the release date. The numbers come from the spec table (design values) on FOURTEEN's product page.
| Item | NEW TB-7 FORGED |
|---|---|
| Release date | Nov 13, 2026 |
| Price (incl. tax) | 5-iron set (#6–P) ¥165,000 / single iron (#5) ¥33,000 |
| Head | Forged S15C soft steel, nickel-chrome plated satin finish, made in Japan |
| 7-iron | 30° loft, 62° lie, 37.5 in |
| 7-iron weight | FS-90i (S)411g / (R)408g / FT-70i 392g |
| Shafts | FS-90i steel (S 93 g, R 89 g) / FT-70i graphite (70 g) |
Lofts run from 26° on the 6-iron to 42° on the P, in clean 4° steps. That spacing makes even distance gaps easier.
¥165,000 divided by 5 clubs is ¥33,000 per 1 club. That's the same as the single-iron price, so a set and singles cost the same per club (my math).
How is it different from the TB-5? Same lofts, new steel and weight
Set side by side with its sibling, the TB-5 FORGED ('25), comparing 7-irons. The TB-5 price is for the Diamond Black Satin finish.
| Item | TB-5 FORGED ('25) | NEW TB-7 FORGED |
|---|---|---|
| 5-iron set (#6–P) | ¥154,000 | ¥165,000 |
| Material | S20C soft iron, forged | Forged S15C soft steel |
| 7-iron loft / length | 30° / 37.5 in | 30° / 37.5 in |
| 7-iron weight (FS-90i S) | 407g | 411g |
| 7-iron swing weight (FS-90i S) | D0.0 | D1.0 |
Loft, lie and length match on every club from #5 to P. FOURTEEN keeps the same lofts across the TB line, which makes combo sets (mixing models by club) easy.
Two things differ. First, the steel: the TB-5 uses S20C, and the TB-7 switches to S15C.
Second, weight: the 7-iron is 4 g heavier, and swing weight goes from D0.0 to D1.0, one point heavier (my math). You'll feel the head a little more.
The price gap is ¥11,000 for 5 clubs, or ¥2,200 per 1 club (my math). That's what you pay for the softer steel and the compact shape.
S15C and the Theater Blade build: what do they do for you?
The "15" in S15C stands for the carbon content. Less carbon means softer steel. Chasing a softer feel, FOURTEEN picked an even softer material within soft carbon steel.
Steel that is too soft can change how the ball comes off the face. FOURTEEN says the new TB-7 removes that worry through the head design.
That design is the Theater Blade build: extra mass around the edges and thickness kept from the sole to the center. The head is smaller than the TB-5, yet MOI is higher and the center of gravity is deeper. It's built so the head twists less on off-center hits.
The sole is the same as the TB-5. FOURTEEN calls it the Universal Sole and says it glides through any lie. The two siblings share it.
What I like, and what to watch
What I like: they changed the material itself for feel. Then they kept loft and length identical to the TB-5, so rebuilding a set is never confusing. It all makes sense, and it's the kind of build I like.
What to watch: the 30° 7-iron. If your current 7-iron is a strong-lofted 27° or so, this 7-iron will seem shorter. Still, the even 4° gaps make clean distance steps easier to build.

Who is it for?
Great for you if you
- You value the feel of forged soft steel above everything
- You like a compact shape but still want some forgiveness
- You want to build a combo set with the TB-5
If you want the ball up in the air more easily, you could wait for the high-launch HL (32° 7-iron) due around spring 2027.
NEW TB-7 FORGED price and where to buy
Pre-order listings are already up on Rakuten Ichiba. There are two shafts: the FS-90i steel and the FT-70i graphite. With graphite the 7-iron weighs 392 g, 19 g lighter than with the S steel shaft (my math).
Broken down to 1 round at a time: I play 150 rounds a year, so the 5-iron set used for 1 year comes to about ¥1,100 per 1 round (¥165,000 ÷ 150, my math).
Other new 2026 irons are in New Irons 2026, and another forged comparison is in Srixon ZXi5 vs ZXi7. For rankings, see Best Irons.

FAQ
When does the NEW TB-7 FORGED come out?
It comes out on Nov 13, 2026. A 5-iron set (#6–P) is ¥165,000; a single iron (#5) is ¥33,000 (tax included). Pre-orders are open, and orders ship from the release date (checked Oct 25, 2026).
How is it different from the TB-5?
Loft, lie and length are the same. What differs is the steel (S20C on the TB-5, S15C on the TB-7) and the weight: with the S steel shaft, the 7-iron is 407 g on the TB-5 and 411 g on the TB-7. Swing weight is D0.0 vs D1.0.
What is the 7-iron loft?
30°. The 6-iron is 26°, 8-iron 34°, 9-iron 38° and P 42°, so the gaps are 4° each. The high-launch HL version has a 32° 7-iron and is due around spring 2027, sold only on the official online store.
