Updated: Nov 8, 2026Contains affiliate links

"Callaway has so many wedges that I can't tell which to look at." For anyone unsure before buying. Short answer: prices run from JPY 27,500 (CB 12) to JPY 37,400 (OPUS SP+), a gap of JPY 9,900. The number of combinations you can pick spans 4 to 22 (Callaway official).

My current wedges, and what I have seen of Callaway's: In October 2026 I looked at a display OPUS SP+ at a local golf shop. I use the Vokey SM11 in 50°, 54° and 58° (I have no 56°), and compared with the SM11 I have not found a reason to switch to Callaway. I have never bought a Callaway wedge; I have only looked at the X FORGED, and I have held the CB 12 in the shop.

Bottom line

Callaway's wedges differ in "how much you can choose" before they differ in price. The OPUS SP has 22 combinations, the OPUS SP+ 11, the X FORGED 7, the CB 12 6 models, and the FULL TOE SP 4. Prices run from JPY 27,500 to JPY 37,400, a gap of JPY 9,900. If you already know your loft and bounce, start with the narrower lineups.
Numbers come from the Callaway Japan product pages (re-read on Nov 7, 2026); I counted the gaps and combinations myself.

Source: the product pages of each Callaway Japan wedge (checked Nov 7, 2026). The OPUS SP+, X FORGED and FULL TOE SP are limited models. "Combinations" counts loft-and-grind pairs, which I counted myself. The CB 12 grind is not listed on its product page.

From cheapest to most expensive: CB 12, OPUS SP, FULL TOE SP, X FORGED, OPUS SP+. The OPUS SP and FULL TOE SP are JPY 1,100 apart, the OPUS SP and X FORGED JPY 3,300 (34,100 − 30,800), and the cheapest and the dearest JPY 9,900 (37,400 − 27,500).

How much loft and bounce can you choose? Counting the combinations

The OPUS SP has seven lofts from 48° to 60°, five grinds (T, C, X, S, W) and bounce from 6° to 14°. That makes 22 loft-and-grind combinations.

The OPUS SP+ has four lofts from 54° to 60°, with Z, S and X grinds and bounce of 8°, 10° and 12°. The X FORGED comes in seven models from 48° to 60°, all at 10° of bounce. The FULL TOE SP has four models from 54° to 60° and only the J grind.

Write down the loft and bounce of your current wedges and check whether the same numbers are on offer. That narrows the field to one or two clubs.

Where do you buy a limited model?

The OPUS SP+, X FORGED and FULL TOE SP are limited models sold through the official online store and similar outlets. Their product pages say the newsletter sign-up coupon does not apply. Shipping is free from JPY 11,000, and returns are accepted within 8 days of arrival (conditions apply).

The CB 12 and OPUS SP are regular items. The price gaps are small, so the practical order is to hold one in a shop first and then decide.

My case: why I do not switch, and how to buy a limited model

Honestly, I am used to the 50°, 54° and 58° of my SM11 and cannot find a reason to move to Callaway. If I do, I would add the 56° my SM11 set lacks and try just that one.

Limited models differ in stock from shop to shop, and they sell out. So before buying, I suggest asking the shop about loft and bounce stock.

Three criteria for choosing

I am used to my SM11, so I will not switch. If I add one, I will try a Callaway 56°. If you are unsure, decide by whether your current wedges' loft and bounce are on offer, whether you can accept the price gap (up to JPY 9,900), and whether you prefer forged or urethane-filled construction.
