RangefindersNINJOR GOLF NJ MINI ReviewThe 121g OLED and the 176g Stabilizer with shake reduction. The weights, sorted out model by model

[Updated Oct 2026] This is a review of the NINJOR GOLF NJ MINI by a golfer who averages a score of 72 and plays 150 rounds a year. The NJ MINI OLED weighs 121g and costs ¥14,990. The Stabilizer, with shake reduction, weighs 176g and costs ¥19,980 (official shop on Rakuten Ichiba).
For the NJ MINI, the weight shows up as "122g" in some places and "176g" in others. The reason is simple: figures for different models have got mixed together. I've split them by model, using the numbers on the official pages.
By the end you'll know how to choose between the OLED and the Stabilizer.
The Gear Nerd's Pick
If I want a light rangefinder for around ¥10,000, I pick the NJ MINI OLED. At 121g it is not far from the Shot Navi STEADY (116g). Yet it costs ¥14,990, about ¥10,000 less than the STEADY. The listing page shows a three-point distance mode and slope correction. As a first rangefinder to carry on the course, or as a spare, the numbers hang together well.

Bottom line
If you're undecided, go with the NJ MINI OLED. It weighs 121g and costs ¥14,990, still in the ¥10,000s. Spread over the 150 rounds I play a year, it comes to about ¥100 a round in the year you buy it (my math).
If hand tremor bothers you, or you aim at small flags far away, take the Stabilizer (¥19,980), which has shake reduction. But at 176g, it adds 55g over the OLED.
NJ MINI specs (OLED and Stabilizer)
| Item | NJ MINI OLED | NJ MINI Stabilizer |
|---|---|---|
| Price (official shop on Rakuten Ichiba) | ¥14,990 | ¥19,980 |
| Weight | 121g | 176g |
| Size | 89×58×32mm | 95.9×72×40.9mm |
| Magnification | 6x | 6x |
| Reading speed (within 100 yards) | 0.1 s | 0.03 s |
| Reading speed (within 300 yards) | 0.2 s | 0.1 s |
| Water resistance | IPX4 | IPX4 |
| Shake reduction | None | Yes |
Here is what the katakana feature names actually do.
- Shake reduction (stabilizer): cuts the tremor of your hands as you set up, so the pin is easier to catch.
- OLED: a display that lights itself, so the characters look crisp.
- Three-point distance measurement: a mode that gets you a distance to the target without walking to your ball.
How much does it weigh? Sorting out 122g and 176g
The short answer: both are correct, and they are figures for different models.
- 121g: NJ MINI OLED. This is the figure on the official page.
- 116g: NJ MINI PRO OLED. This is the figure on the official page.
- 176g: NJ MINI Stabilizer. This is the figure on the official page.
122g comes from the "NJ MINI series" wording in a Rakuten seller's product name. I couldn't find that figure on the official page, so before you buy, check the weight together with the model name.
The Gear Nerd's Take: Reading the NJ MINI by the Numbers
Start with 121g. The gap to the STEADY (116g) in this article is 5g. For something you carry every round, weight is an important number.
Next, speed. The OLED reads in 0.1 s within 100 yards and 0.2 s within 300 yards. The Stabilizer takes 0.03 s within 100 yards and 0.1 s within 300 yards. If you measure short distances a lot, the Stabilizer's 0.03 s is better on paper.
Then the price. The OLED is ¥14,990 and the Stabilizer is ¥19,980, a gap of ¥4,990 (my math). It comes down to whether shake reduction and speed are worth just under ¥5,000.
Here is the weak spot. The Stabilizer weighs 176g, 55g more than the OLED, and it is bigger too at 95.9×72×40.9mm. For anyone who puts lightness first, the OLED is the better fit.

How do the NJ MINI and STEADY differ?
I'll line it up against the Shot Navi STEADY, the standard pick in the ¥20,000s.
| Item | NJ MINI OLED | NJ MINI Stabilizer | STEADY |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price | ¥14,990 | ¥19,980 | ¥24,970 |
| Weight | 121g | 176g | 116g |
| Reading speed | 0.1 s within 100 yards | 0.03 s within 100 yards | 0.05 s |
| Shake reduction | None | Yes | None |
| Water resistance | IPX4 | IPX4 | IPX4-equivalent |
The price gap between the OLED and the STEADY is ¥9,980, and the weight gap is 5g (my math). With weights this close, the cheaper OLED is easy to justify. The STEADY has a vibration when it locks onto the pin, and a tournament mode.
More on the STEADY in the Shot Navi STEADY review, and on the ¥20,000s in the comparison of rangefinders under ¥30,000.
Can it be used in competition?
Rule 4.3 of the Rules of Golf allows a rangefinder used to find distance, but not one used to measure elevation. With a rangefinder that has slope correction, what decides it is whether you can set it so that function can't be used.
Whether you can actually use it is up to the local rules of the event. Read the entry details before you play.
Three things to take away.
The NJ MINI OLED is 121g and ¥14,990.
The Stabilizer has shake reduction, at 176g and ¥19,980.
The 122g figure is wording for a different model.
Which comes first for you, light weight or shake reduction? That answer decides between the OLED and the Stabilizer.
