Out in Japan since late April 2026, this red-and-green OLED laser rangefinder has Pin Seek (it vibrates when it locks onto the flag) and 3-point measurement. It is ¥4,950 below the LINEA and the cheapest of the five rangefinders on my list.
A rangefinder suits anyone who plays golf. The number for club selection is right in your hand, so you spend less time second-guessing each shot. The Shot Navi STEADY is a very good one. For ¥24,970 you get a 0.05-second reading, a vibration when it locks onto the pin, and three-point measurement. If you're on the fence, this is a good one to buy.
The Gear Nerd's Pick
If I'm shopping for a first rangefinder in the ¥20,000s, I pick the STEADY. 0.05 seconds is one twentieth of a second. The number appears the instant you press the button, so there's no waiting after you take aim. Pin Seek is the mode that picks out the flag instead of the trees in front or the hills behind, and it vibrates to tell you it has locked on. That makes it harder to read the wrong distance. Add the 116g weight and you have a well-balanced rangefinder to carry every round.

If you're undecided, go with the STEADY. For ¥24,970 you get a 0.05-second reading, Pin Seek, three-point measurement and a tournament mode. The LINEA one step up costs ¥29,920. The ¥4,950 difference buys longer range (1,640 yd) and faster charging (about 1.5 hours). If you mostly measure around 150 yards, STEADY's 1,312.3 yd is more than enough.
If you want to lean toward lightness, there is also the 110g nano GR+, but it costs ¥36,300. Weighing price against features, STEADY is the easiest one to choose.

Here is what the katakana feature names actually do.
- Pin Seek: a measuring mode that picks out the flag first. The unit vibrates when it locks on.
- Scan: hold the button and sweep, and it measures several targets in a row.
- Three-point measurement: a mode that gets you a distance to the target without standing at the ball. It helps when you want a number before heading back to the cart.
The Gear Nerd's Take: Reading STEADY by the Numbers
Start with 0.05 seconds. LINEA, from the same maker, takes 0.1 seconds, so STEADY gets the number up in half the time. The gap adds up most when you have to re-measure a few times to lock onto the pin.
Next, 116g. That is 23g lighter than LINEA and lighter than the Bushnell A1 Slope Jolt's 139g. Weight matters a lot for something you carry every round.
Then charging. One full charge covers about 32,000 readings. At 50 readings a round, that works out to 640 rounds (my math). You will rarely have to think about charging.
The display is red and green OLED. It lights itself, so the numbers in the finder are easy to read. Magnification is 6x, a standard figure for a rangefinder.

STEADY is the cheapest of the three, and its speed matches nano GR+. LINEA measures farther and charges faster. nano GR+ is the lightest and is made in Japan.
I'd look at STEADY first. The gap is ¥4,950 to LINEA and ¥11,330 to nano GR+ (my math). Compare range and weight in numbers, and only go up if something is missing.

Can it be used in competition?
STEADY has a tournament mode that switches off the slope (elevation) function. While it is off, the LED on the side of the unit glows green. Golf Rule 4.3 allows rangefinders that give distance and does not allow measuring elevation.
