In February 2026, Callaway switched its drivers from ELYTE to QUANTUM. There are five models, and two of them are sold only at limited stores. I sorted it out from the official press releases and official store numbers.

Bottom line: how I'd choose
For a baseline, take the QUANTUM MAX. If you can't square the ball, the MAX D; for an easy swing, the MAX FAST (46 in, lightest in the series).
The ◆◆◆ (450cc) for better players and the ◆◆◆ MAX are sold only at CALLAWAY SELECTED STORE.
The rear weight moves the opposite way: the MAX is "draw / neutral," and the ◆◆◆ line is "neutral / fade."
Drivers: five QUANTUM models plus the MINI
All 5 models went on sale Feb 6, 2026. Price varies with the shaft, so I've listed the price of the cheapest combination.
| Model | Price (incl. tax) | Loft | Volume | Length | Who it suits (from the official description) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| From ¥110,000 | 9 / 10.5 / 12° | 460cc | 45.5 in | The series standard. Easy to launch and fits a wide range of players | |
| From ¥110,000 | 9 / 10.5 / 12° | 460cc | 45.5 in | Squares easily with a high ball flight. A long front-to-back head | |
| ¥118,800 | 9.5 / 10.5 / 12° | 460cc | 46 inches | The lightest in the series (about 282–285 g). Easy to swing through | |
| From ¥118,800 | 8 / 9 / 10.5° | 450cc | 45.5 in | A pear shape for pros and better players. Limited stores only | |
| From ¥118,800 | 9 / 10.5° | 460cc | 45.5 in | A larger ◆◆◆ for better players. Limited stores only | |
| ¥93,500 | 11.5 / 13.5° | 340cc | 43.75 in | A small head. Also meant for hitting straight off the turf (released Apr 17, 2026) |
All models use the "TRI-FORCE face," three layers of titanium, resin and carbon. Callaway says the titanium part is 14% thinner than on last year's ELYTE. No moment-of-inertia figure is published.
The direction you can adjust with the rear weight is opposite on the MAX and ◆◆◆. The MAX moves to "draw / neutral," and the ◆◆◆ and ◆◆◆ MAX move to "neutral / fade." So if you miss right a lot, the MAX side; if you miss left a lot, the ◆◆◆ side.
GDO's gear catalog lists prices that differ from the official ones and different lofts and lengths for the MAX FAST. This article uses the numbers in Callaway's official materials. There's also a detailed QUANTUM page.
Start from the standard MAX
The five regular models make sense once you look at what each one changes from the standard MAX: the MAX D adds draw bias with a longer front-to-back head, the MAX FAST is lighter, and the ◆◆◆ (450cc) and ◆◆◆ MAX (460cc) switch to a pear shape for better players. One thing to know before buying is which way the rear weight works: both are "weighted," but the MAX shifts toward draw while the ◆◆◆ models shift toward fade, the opposite direction. There's also the limited-edition ◆◆◆ TD and the 340cc MINI.
QUANTUM MAX
Suits
- Want to start with the standard model when unsure (the series' standard model)
- Want to launch it easily (titanium sole for a low, deep CG)
- Want to switch between draw and neutral with weights
QUANTUM MAX D
For frequent misses to the right
- Miss right often and want a high, draw-biased flight (officially the most draw-biased, high-launching head in the series)
- Want out-of-the-box reassurance rather than weight tuning
QUANTUM MAX FAST
Suits
- Want to swing a light club through to raise head speed (lightest in the series)
- Want distance with a high, draw-biased flight
QUANTUM ◆◆◆ (Triple Diamond)
For better players who shape shots with the head
- Want to work the ball with a compact pro-style shape
- Want to limit misses to the left (weight settings are neutral and fade)
QUANTUM ◆◆◆ MAX
Suits
- Like the ◆◆◆ shape but want a slightly bigger, more reassuring head
- Want a better-player model that can be set toward fade
QUANTUM ◆◆◆ TD (limited edition)
Suits
- Want to draw it more easily with the ◆◆◆ shape (TD = Tour Draw)
- Better players who want a draw-leaning setup from the start without fiddling with weights
QUANTUM MINI (mini driver)
For steadier tee shots
- Want steadier tee shots with a shorter, smaller head than a driver
- Want to hit it off the turf too, e.g. second shots on par 5s (officially shaped with that in mind)
What's new in the design, and what the maker says it does
TRI-FORCE face
Construction: A three-layer face stacking titanium on the hitting surface, polymesh resin, and carbon on the back. The maker says it came from more than 59,000 face designs and more than 2.27 million impact simulations.
What Callaway says: The titanium can be 14% thinner than on the previous ELYTE, improving energy transfer while keeping durability and allowing precise control over how much and how fast the face flexes.
AI-designed flight correction (stable spin)
Construction: The face thickness pattern is designed with AI. Thinner titanium means more areas the AI can tune.
What Callaway says: Wherever you hit the face, spin varies less than on the previous ELYTE. Heel hits don't gain too much spin and balloon, and toe hits don't lose too much spin (no figures published for the effect).
Discrete weight (MAX, ◆◆◆, ◆◆◆ MAX)
Construction: A system that swaps the positions of approx. 9g and approx. 1g weights inside the rear of the sole.
What Callaway says: The MAX lets you choose draw (approx. 9g on the heel side) or neutral; the ◆◆◆ and ◆◆◆ MAX let you choose neutral or fade.
360° Carbon Chassis (MAX FAST, ◆◆◆, ◆◆◆ MAX)
Construction: A body with both the crown (top) and sole (bottom) in carbon. The MAX and MAX D use carbon only on the crown and keep a titanium sole.
What Callaway says: On the MAX FAST, the weight savings make head speed easier to raise; on the ◆◆◆ models, more freedom in weight distribution pushes distance and workability further. The titanium sole on the MAX and MAX D gives a low, deep CG that helps launch.
Before you buy last year's model: how it differs from the one before
| Current | Previous model | Difference in numbers |
|---|---|---|
| QUANTUM Drivers | ELYTE (2025) | Titanium part of the face 14% thinner. Callaway says the MAX carries over the ELYTE shape and the MAX D carries over the ELYTE X shape |
| QUANTUM MINI | ELYTE MINI (Apr 2025) | Length 43.5 → 43.75 in. Volume is the same at 340cc |
FAQ
How do the QUANTUM MAX and MAX D differ?
Price (from ¥110,000), volume and length are the same. The MAX D has no adjustable rear weight and is a long front-to-back head designed to square easily and fly high. If you miss right a lot, try the MAX D.
Where can I buy the QUANTUM ◆◆◆?
The ◆◆◆ and ◆◆◆ MAX are sold only at CALLAWAY SELECTED STORE. They may not be on the shelves of an ordinary golf shop.
