PuttersOdyssey PuttersChoose by how you want the head to move in the stroke

In 2026, Odyssey released new series one after another: the Ai-DUAL, TRI-BEAM, DAMASCUS MILLED and TRTL. With this many in a row, shape gets confusing. Before shape, I suggest deciding how you want the head to move during the stroke. Once that's decided, the candidates narrow quickly.

Bottom line: how I'd choose
If in doubt, take the Ai-DUAL (¥51,700). It's the baseline: a putter you hit with ordinary feel.
If wobble on off-center hits bothers you, the TRI-BEAM or TRTL. If you want to cut the face's opening and closing itself, the Square 2 Square line (zero-torque).
When you choose a Square 2 Square, look at the loft. Most are 5°, larger than a typical putter.
Putters: Odyssey splits by how the head moves when you hit
| Series | Release date | Price (incl. tax) | Features |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jan 23, 2026 | ¥51,700 | An insert layering two resins of different hardness. Six shapes, including #1, #7, DW and 2-BALL | |
| Mar 20, 2026 | ¥55,000 | A triangular "racket hosel" keeps the head steady on off-center hits. A center-shaft version exists too | |
| Aug 7, 2026 | ¥53,900 | Odyssey's first four sole weights. A new insert gives a firm feel | |
| Jan 23, 2026 | ¥60,500 | "Zero-torque," where the face resists opening and closing in the stroke. 5° loft | |
| Aug 7, 2026 | ¥69,300 | The zero-torque version of the TRTL. 5° loft | |
| May 15, 2026 | ¥73,700 | A Damascus steel insert (the first in 13 years). Milled from stainless |
With Odyssey, it's clearer to choose by "how you want the head to move in the stroke" before shape.
- Want ordinary feel: Ai-DUAL (¥51,700)
- Want less wobble on off-center hits: TRI-BEAM or TRTL
- Want to cut the face's opening and closing itself: the Square 2 Square line (zero-torque)
- Like a firmer, metallic feel: DAMASCUS MILLED
Note that most of the Square 2 Square line has 5° of loft, larger than a typical putter (around 3°). My putter article also explains the idea behind zero-torque.
Before you buy last year's model: how it differs from the one before
| Current | Previous model | Difference in numbers |

| Ai-DUAL Putter | Ai-ONE (2023–2025) | The insert changes from "resin + aluminum" to "two resin layers" |
FAQ
What is Odyssey's Square 2 Square?
It's a "zero-torque" putter whose face resists opening and closing during the stroke. The Ai-DUAL, TRTL and DAMASCUS MILLED each have a Square 2 Square version, and most have 5° of loft.
Does Odyssey publish putter head weight?
The official press releases list loft, lie angle, sole weights, length and grip weight, but not head weight.
